Set off on a scenic island-hopping adventure on the Oslofjord using the city’s all-electric public ferries, just like the locals. Discover a quieter, more natural side of Oslo as you cruise across open water on a series of short, peaceful boat journeys. Take in wide views of green islands, charming cabins, and distant hills along the way. Then step ashore on two unique islands, each full of character and brimming with history and natural beauty.
On one of the islands, wander along coastal paths, through forests and open meadows, and past quiet beaches while hearing fascinating stories of human activity here spanning more than 1,000 years. Discover how life has evolved alongside the surrounding environment and how the island’s landscape and resources have shaped local traditions over time.
On the other island, dive into Norway’s cabin culture as you explore colourful, charming wooden cottages and blooming gardens. Hear how these simple retreats have long been a place to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and soak up the peaceful island life. Along the way, your guide will share fun insights about the islands’ nature and lead you to viewpoints with breathtaking scenery, perfect for pausing, snapping photos, or simply enjoying the moment.
Cruise back into the city by ferry with stunning views of Oslo’s waterfront, including the lively harbour area of Aker Brygge, bringing your island hopping and nature walk experience to a memorable close.
You are encouraged to carry a towel and swimsuit so you can comfortably swim in the fjord. We reccommend you bring your own lunch, but weather and schedule depending you may purchase snacks from one of the shops along the way.
